Monk Job Change Guide

This guide describes the Monk Job Change quest on Fatesend, based on our server script. Follow the steps in order.

Requirements

• Class: Acolyte
• Job Level: 40+ (recommended)
• You will be sent through multiple tests inside and around the Monk Temple.

Getting Started

Talk to the Guarding Monk:

• Location: prt_monk (59,247)

He will direct you to the Monk Temple.

Step 1: Item Collection (Sensei Moohae)

Talk to Sensei Moohae:

• Location: monk_in (99,58)

He will ask you to bring one full item set. The set is selected randomly from the list below.

Possible item sets (bring ONE complete set)
Set A Tooth of Bat x10 Bear's Footskin x5 Poison Spore x20
Set B Porcupine Quill x5 Cobweb x20 Grasshopper's Leg x10
Set C Stem x30 Jellopy x5 Worm Peeling x10
Set D Sticky Mucus x5 Earthworm Peeling x10 Green Herb x20
Set E Yoyo Tail x20 Iron Ore x5 Blue Herb x3
Set F Solid Shell x5 Shell x20 Zargon x5
Set G Cyfar x5 White Herb x10 Yellow Herb x10

After you deliver the required set, he will send you to Touha.

Step 2: Mental State Test (Touha)

Talk to Touha:

• Location: prt_monk (251,255)

Touha will recite a prayer split into multiple lines. Your task is to repeat it back in the correct order by selecting the lines in sequence.

There are 3 possible sets:

Set 1

• I seek the path
• of enlightenment
• We monks
• shall hold true
• to what we believe
• and will help protect others
• through the teachings
• we learn through our lives.
• In nomine Patris, et Filii
• et Spiritus Sancti.

Set 2

• I commit myself to
• veritas and aequitas.
• I will follow my path
• to enlightenment and purity.
• I will protect my
• brothers with my life.
• Evil shall never be
• victorious while I breathe.
• In nomine Patris, et Filii
• et Spiritus Sancti.

Set 3

• And shepherds we shall be
• for thee my lord for thee.
• Power hath descended forth
• from thy hand
• so our feet may swiftly carry
• out thy command. And we shall
• flow a river forth to thee and
• teeming with souls shall it ever be
• In nomine Patris, et Filii
• et Spiritus Sancti.

When you pass, Touha will direct you back for the next test.

Step 3: Choose your test (Boohae)

Talk to Boohae:

• Location: prt_monk (57,179)

You must choose ONE of the two tests:

• Marathon Test
• Mushroom Collecting Test

You can switch to the other test if you fail or give up.

Option A: Marathon Test (Bashu)

Talk to Bashu:

• Location: monk_test (329,61)

He will warp you to the test track. In this test you must complete the course without falling into traps. If you hit a trap, you will be reset to the start of the current lap.

Tip: Always talk to the NPC at the start point to begin the run properly.

Option B: Mushroom Collecting Test (Bashu + Hyunmoo)

Talk to Bashu:

• Location: monk_test (329,61)

He will warp you to the test room. Inside, talk to Hyunmoo to validate your mushrooms.

Requirement:

• You need at least 30 of ONE mushroom type
• AND at least 1 of the other mushroom type

Items:

• Orange Net Mushroom
• Orange Gooey Mushroom

Step 4: Invisible Wall Maze (Tomoon)

After finishing Marathon or Mushroom test, proceed to the final test and talk to Tomoon:

• Location: monk_test (319,139)

Rules:

• You must pass through rooms with invisible walls and monsters.
• Tomoon will require you to drink a Green Potion to proceed/finish.

Important:

• Make sure you have no Green Potions in your inventory before you finish.
• The script checks and will force you to consume them.

Item:

• Green Potion

Final Step: Job Change (Sensei Moohae)

Return to Sensei Moohae:

• Location: monk_in (99,58)

Answer his questions and complete the job change.

Reward

Your reward depends on your Job Level at completion:

• If Job Level is exactly 50:

 * Knuckle Duster (script reward: Knuckle_Duster_)

• Otherwise:

 * Waghnak
